What is the CHIMNEYS-L all about?
The CHIMNEYS-L Mailing list was an idea, which I had January 1995 while studying mailing lists. I decided to create this list for the CHIMNEY SWEEPS WORLD WIDE for the discussion of chimney related topics. Since the inception of the list we have had a stupendous response. We are growing at very successful rate everyday. Currently, we have over 300 chimney related professionals in over 10 different countries. This list has acquired quite an array of professionals relating to this field, we have: Masons who build CHIMNEYS, fire and home inspectors who inspect CHIMNEYS, stove dealers who sell stoves that vent out CHIMNEYS, insurance companies who insure CHIMNEYS, Manufacturers who process logs that burn in CHIMNEYS, editors who write about CHIMNEYS, Fireman who extinguish CHIMNEYS, SWEEPS who clean CHIMNEYS, and some who do many of the above, you get the picture... No matter what your question is that pertains to CHIMNEYS you can bet hat someone on the CHIMNEYS list will have an answer to it or will know where to go to get it and send a reply back to the list. Not only has this list been a great pool of technical information for all CHIMNEY SWEEPS but has been an area where the men and women of this industry can get together and share stories relating to their work out in the field. This list is fully supported by its members only and is not influenced by any advertiser or any organization. I am also asking everyone who signs on to this list to please help us out with expenses of maintaining this automated Listserv list and marketing of the list. As more and more people learn the benefits of the Internet, the list grows and with it the growing number of Newbies who need a lot of guidance through technical advice. This can be very time consuming and seems to be growing into a full time job for me. Don't let this discourage you from signing on and checking out the list. I encourage you to try it for free for a couple weeks, if you like it stay on if not sign off. Thank you, Dave McKnew Return to Forum |
