Why local chimney safety cannot wait
- NFPA estimates thousands of home clothes dryer fires occur annually-year after data-year in the U.S., often tied to lint buildup — a reminder that dryer vents need clearing alongside chimney service.
- IRC Chapter 10 (Chimneys and Fireplaces) sets construction and clearance rules for chimneys, fireplaces, and vents — including liner, termination, and combustible-clearance requirements that inspections verify in the field.
- A Level 1 chimney inspection documents accessible portions of the chimney and connected appliance — the baseline most homeowners need each year.
